Here's what is going on with this website. I'll to keep my progress posted. Plan I took the config.help file that comes with the kernel in the tarball. I then fragmented that so that each setting has its on html page. I plan to add to add more info to each page, so that they are actually helpful in making decisions on what settings to choose when compiling the kernel. I also decided to try and make the website as familiar to newbies as it would be to the gurus. That's why I the screenshots that you would get if you used make xconfig. if you haven't noticed already. The kernel has a few thousand settings and therefore I have a few thousand html pages to setup. I have to decided to set it up so that the main pages are put up first with the individual pages coming up afterwards. After the site is completely up I will go through each setting category and add in info that is hopefully helpful. Progress Main Page - 100% Setting Categories - about 35% Settings Pages - less than 1% Future Work Redesign Website so its easier to use. Add more links. Hopefully get some help at one time. Misc.. stuff I haven't though of yet. |
